Standard Product
This 9″x12″ Emergency Location Marker (ELM) is a high quality, industry standard, .063″ thick aluminum sign covered with High Intensity Prismatic (HIP) grade reflective laminate that is protected with an anti-graffiti coating. ELM construction provides high performance reflectivity that meets FHWA standards for interstate highway signs and is well suited for dimly-lit conditions often found on forested off-road trails, paths and parks. U.S. National Grid (USNG) coordinates as shown on the ELM will match against the GPS readout for an installed location. This information when called into a 911 center will quickly provide responders with information about the location of a call for assistance that will be accurate to within 33′ in the call center’s area of responsibility.
The ELM is durable in all weather conditions, and dependent on manufacturer, comes with either a seven (7) or ten (10) year warranty against defects or delamination. It is installation-ready for standard galvanized posts with 1-inch hole spacing, using ⅜” diameter bolts (not included). Similarly, it can be easily installed on wooden posts using ⅜” diameter lag bolts.
The 9″x12″ ELM is sized to comply with the federal signage marking standard for off-road motorized trails used by all-terrain vehicles, snowmobiles, motorcycles and similar.
